As a marketing manager, I'm sure you've found that you need to get images for your marketing material, but you have not found the right picture.
In this article we will explain some of the most interesting options, both free and paid, so you can access a variety of photographs to use according to your needs.
If what you need are images for a poster that you are designing for an event, or for a landing prepared for a marketing campaign or, in short, for any graphic need that you have, you have 3 possibilities:
1. Free image banks
Free image banks are web spaces where you can find many high quality images that can be used for any marketing need we have.
There are many, but below we highlight 3 of those we use most regularly in DigitalMakers, both for the quality of the photographs and for the variety of concepts.
1. Pexels (www.pexels.com)
Bank of gratuitous images in bitmap of high quality and that, in addition, also has some photographs that express concepts. A very good option, with the following characteristics:
- It’s not necessary to register if you want to download images in high quality (for example, 3937 x 2600 pixels), depending on the image the option of superior quality is slightly different.
- And you do not have to give credit to the creators of the image either, all Pexels photos are free.
- If you also decide to create an account, you can save the images that interest you the most to download them when you need it.
- As a negative point, searches have to be done in English, although with a translator like google you can easily find what interests you.
2. Freeimages (www.freeimages.com)
Bank of free images in bitmap of high quality, although it does not usually have pictures of concepts. Its features are quite similar to pexels.com:
- You do not have to register to download photographs but if you do, you can save the photographs that interest you the most so you can download them later.
- Neither do you have to give credit to the creators of the image.
- And you can search in English and Spanish.
3. Freepik (www.freepik.es)
Bank of free images in bitmap of high quality, in vectorial format and in PSD and usually has photographs of concepts.
- You do not have to register to download photographs but if you do, you can save the photographs that interest you the most so you can download them later.
- You can find a lot of material to make diptychs, triptychs and even infographics.
- You can search in English and Spanish.
2. Banks of payment images
The banks of paid images are also very diverse, but there are some that stand out for their quality and for the quantity of photographs available. In DigitalMakers we work especially with 2:
1. Shutterstock (www.shutterstock.com)
Possibly the best bank of high quality payment images, in vector format and in bitmap, as well as having videos and even music.
- Usually have many pictures of concepts, in addition to more generic.
- It has a section of editorial images (for media, for example).
- It has an extensive network of collaborators, with which there are thousands of images and they are updated periodically.
- Allows search in Spanish and English.
2. Fotolia (now called Adobe Stock) (https://es.fotolia.com/ o https://stock.adobe.com/es/)
Bank of free images acquired by Adobe in 2014, with high-quality bitmap images, in vector format and videos.
- Usually have multiple pictures of concepts.
- It also has a section of editorial images.
- They have more than 35 million photos free of cheap rights, vectors and videos.
- Allows search in Spanish and English.
- Being now part of Adobe is updated periodically with new content provided by users of the Adobe community.
3. Own photographs taken in photoshoot
Choosing images in a bank of images can be a quick and easy resource, but if we want to make sure that nobody else has the same image as our company, the only way is to generate the graphic material ourselves.
In addition to having a unique graphic material we will make sure that it is as we need it to be able to approach our buyer person.
It is important that the images are not only of good quality but ideally have to add value in our marketing campaigns.
To plan a profitable and effective photo session, it is essential to think and plan very well what is expected of that photo session.
If we are very clear that at the end of the session we will have 10 photos with a specific scheme and with the clear objective of where to use them (for internal communications of the company, for the website, for the Google My Business page, etc) the session ( or sessions) of photos will be effective.
At DigitalMakers we are committed to working with our own photographs both for our website and as a recommendation to our clients. Own photographs provide differentiation and bring the company closer to your buyer persona, what kind of photographs do you prefer, image banks or your own photographs?
