A few days ago, our manager Pascual Flores, had the pleasure of giving a talk on Digital Transformation at La Salle Barcelona, specifically with the students of the Master in Technology Management (MGTI).
The session lasted approximately two and a half hours, and was divided basically into three sections of 45 minutes each:
- Context and What is digital?
- DigitalMakers case
- Sanimatic case
So, in the first place, we put the audience in context explaining that it is a prepared session that we use for academic areas (especially for the purpose of sharing our real day-to-day experience), but above all it has been designed and habitually we also use it as a “shock” session by the human team of the companies where we started processes of Digital Transformation.
Therefore, with this session of “shock” what we intend is to cause a change in the “Mindset”, in the way of thinking of the company.
As we explained to the students, our typical client, with whom we are working most regularly, is a company that charges between 5 and 10 million euros, that is to say that it already has a certain structure (purchasing department, customer service, logistics, production, etc.), and that also has between 50 and 100 years of history; what implies that they are strong companies that have already gone through several situations of change, but now they as entity, and above all their human team faces a new digital scenario.
We went on, to comment and reflect together on What does digital mean? aligning nomenclature, meanings and framework.
Second, we explain our own case to Digital Makers, where we come from, where we are going, and our simplified DM0 work method to deal with digital transformation processes.
In third and last place, we explain a theoretical case that we call academically Sanimatic, with all the usual elements of a digital transformation process.
To conclude, he thanked the students for the assistance and the interesting contributions we made during the session.
